Marjorie K. Stallard

MA Counseling - Clinical Mental Health Intern

Portfolio

Welcome to my site, where you will learn a little about me and see some of my coursework.

My name is Marjorie Stallard, and I graduate on May 11th, 2024, with an MA in clinical mental health counseling from a CACREP-accredited program. Counseling emphasizes growth, wellness, empowerment, and development for clients who experience problems and seek support. As a mental health counselor, I will work with adults in Southwestern Virginia to help them realize their mental health goals using appropriate diagnoses, assessments, and counseling services. I will complete a supervised residency in counseling, totaling 3,400 hours (no less than 21 months). After that, I will become a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I hope to work at an in-patient facility with adults who are experiencing severe mental illness. I want to help them increase wellness and resilience so they can regain control of their lives. I have been a member of the Virginia Counseling and American Counseling Associations for two years and have completed additional training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) so I may better serve my future clients.
